Preclinical research

Freia Farmaceutici believes that one of the main keys to its success is identifying the constant effort required for its activities of medical-scientific research and technological innovation.

Freia Farmaceutici’s research activities are conducted in collaboration with a staff of medical specialists who have technical skills in clinical research and work in various fields of medicine: dermatology, cardiology, paediatrics, oncology, diabetology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, neurology, orthopaedics and human nutrition.

Central Nervous System

Formed of the brain and the spinal cord, this is the system responsible for the integration, analysis and coordination of sensory data and motor commands and is the seat of our most important functions, such as intelligence, memory, learning and emotions.

Some pathologies linked to the incorrect functioning of this system particularly affect less robust sections of the population, such as children or the elderly.

Freia Farmaceutici’s commitment is linked to the development of effective therapeutic solutions for pathologies such as:

  • Alzheimer’s disease, an acquired disorder of the intellectual functions with an organic basis, with a debilitating, degenerative course that predominantly affects the elderly;
  • attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a behavioural disorder characterised by lack of attention, impulsiveness and motor hyperactivity in children;
  • multiple sclerosis.

Neonatology

The incidence and severity of preterm birth complications increase with the decrease in gestational age. Most complications are related to organ immaturity dysfunction.

Freia Farmaceutici’s commitment is aimed at developing innovative and non-invasive forms of supplementation of essential elements as supportive therapies for preterm infants.
